With a side-discharge cut the grass clippings are laid out to the side of the machine in neat rows. An optional mulch plug is available to buy separately . Side discharge mowers  are recommended for use in areas where collecting isn’t required. These are usually areas where the grass is overgrown and can be cut roughly to wilt back naturally.
