Mountfield SP485 HW V Variable Speed 4IN1 Petrol Lawnmower

The Mountfield SP485 HW V is a high quality self-propelled high wheel lawnmower with a Honda GCVx145 OHV engine, variable speed transmission, and 6 pre-set cutting heights. The speed variator lets the user vary the forward speed of the mower to match the cutting terrain and conditions. The transmission is less sensitive to wear and provides more torque than on previous models.

The Mountfield SP485 HW V features 4IN1 mowing functions including cut and collect, mulch, side and rear discharge These functions let the user choose the best mowing functions for the conditions. With the mulch plug fitted into the rear of the mower the grass cuttings will be finely cut into tiny pieces which are blown back onto the ground. The pieces virtually disappear into the soil where they add extra nutrients and moisture. Mulching is best down in drier conditions. Only cut a third of the grass height at a time so the grass and mower are not damaged. This also achieves the best cut and finish on the lawn.

The 70 litre collector is made of canvas with a hard top and features a bag full indicator. The 6 cutting heights can be adjusted centrally from 25 – 85mm.

The 48cm cutting width and rugged 280mm rear wheels make the Mountfield SP485 HW V lawn mower suitable for long grass areas and large gardens up to 50m x 50m.
