Which Portable Generator Should I Buy?

You may have wondered what the point of getting a portable generator is. In our experience, there are usually 3 main

purposes – at least so we hear from our customers.

How you use it may be completely different but here’s what we have discovered so far:

Camping and recreation

Having access to power anywhere you want it, can be very comfortable. It means that you can camp anywhere you like, with the option of taking a microwave, a television or being able to charge your mobile devices such as smartphone or tablets.

Our outdoor recreation customers are big fans of the Honda Silent Generator as it’s fairly quiet. You won’t find yourself being thrown off the campsite by angry neighbours, but it’s powerful enough to give you what you need.

Home back-up

Although the electricity in the UK is fairly stable, there are occasions when it can go down. Perhaps there is a fault in the local area and that part of the grid has to be switched off to make it safe for the local people. Or maybe you are expecting a storm and you may lose your power when the electricity poles and cable are blown down (as happened last year). In these situations, we recommend the Briggs & Stratton P2000 Inverter.

Off-site jobs and farming tasks

It’s essential that you can rely on a decent current of power when you’re out on the farm or on a construction job. A generator that can run for up to 9 hours is the best. Just place it on level ground (never operate them on a truck) and you’ll have the power that you need to perform your job.

We recommend the very rugged Honda EC5000 Petrol Generator.
