AL-KO Easy 5.1 SP-S Self-Propelled Petrol Lawnmower

The Easy 5.1 SP-S is the base model of the self-propelled lawnmower range currently manufactured by AL-KO. It is a machine perfectly fitting for a gardener who for which their budget may not stretch that far and for gardens/lawns which have sloped areas. It’s one of those 4-in-1 models too where you have the option to cut and collect, mulch, rear discharge or side discharge the grass cuttings and its power drive or self-propulsion propels the petrol lawnmower along without having the need to push it. Furthermore, it is built with a highly durable steel deck that has a 51cm (20”) cutting width. Similarly, there is the ability for you to set the cutting height to 7 different settings, ranging from 25mm to 80mm. The machine’s engine is the highly powerful ‘AL-KO Tech 160’, which guarantees the user a high quality final cut. Beside this, the lawnmower is also easy to handle thanks to its ergonomic handlebar and larger wheels.

Cobra RM433SPBI Self-Propelled 3 Speed Rear Roller Lawnmower

The Cobra RM433SPBI is fitted with the industry leading Briggs & Stratton 575iS Series™ InStart® engine. It is industry leading in terms of both design and standard, largely down to it being the first of its kind to combine the power of petrol with the reliability of a lithium-ion battery. Furthermore, it also offers the user efficient fuel consumption, less time needed for maintenance tasks and reduced noise pollution levels. The lawnmower also provides you with minimal stress as it has an easy push button starts and a 3-speed transmission, which allows you to maintain pace with the lawnmower always, especially when you need to mow on sloped/uneven ground, which some models on the market don’t have to ability to do this. Also, it’s designed with a reliable steel deck and a 43cm (17″) cutting width, therefore is ideal for smaller gardens. The cutting height adjustments of this machine ranges from 17mm up to 75mm.

Stiga Twinclip 55 S-R H BBC Self-Propelled Rear Roller Lawnmower

The Stiga Twinclip 55 S-R H BBC is guaranteed to offer any user of it an excellent outcome, due to its unique features and specification. Firstly, the design incorporates a ‘twin clip’ cutting blade which has four different cutting faces and a 53cm (21”) cutting width, with 8 different cutting heights between 13mm and 65mm. This unique technology improves the collecting and cutting performance of a machine by 20%, when comparing it to the more traditional straight cutting blades. Also, the cyclone grass collection system packs more grass clippings into the collection bag, with the obvious consequence being less time is spent mowing. Furthermore, these lawnmowers have galvanised and hybrid aluminium steel decks, so that the strength of the deck won’t be an issue. However, one key feature of this model especially is the ‘Blade Brake Clutch’ (BBC). This stops the blade rotating without having the need for you to turn the engine off. This is particularly useful for when you are collecting grass clippings and you’re required to move your machine across areas of gravel for example.

Conclusion

Now, it’s worth noting that other lawnmowers have been released in 2018, including the ‘Toro 20965 Power Reverse ADS High WheelRecycler’ and the ‘Mountfield SP53 Elite Self-Propelled Petrol’, but the 3 that have been discussed are ones that we would recommend you consider buying first as we feel these provide good value for money in terms of both design and performance. We hope that this is of some help to you when it comes to making your purchasing decision.
