If you’ve got an interest in the front deck mower, then there are a few things you need to know before you commit to your purchase.

What is the difference between front mounted and mid mounted ride ons? You’ll find that the front deck lawn mower has the cutter deck positioned where you can see it, instead of it being directly underneath you. There are several advantages to this style. For example, you’ll find that the cut is much smoother with the front deck due to it being able to travel over land contours independently. This results in less scalping of the turf.

You’ll also notice that it can handle corners better in addition to those areas where there is less space. The mid-mounted mower couldn’t handle such challenges, which will mean that going under low hanging branches and hedges will be difficult. Overall this feature saves time. You’ll also get a better finish as nothing has flattened the grass before it’s cut, as can happen with the mid mounted lawn rider.

Each of our carefully chosen front-deck mowers come with a built in high quality mulching system. This also saves time, and money as you won’t need to rake up nor will you need to fertilise your lawn. Your clippings will be cut up small and fed back into the grass in the tiniest of clippings.

For those at entry-level we recommend the Stiga Villa 14 lawn mower which we currently have on special offer. It’s packed with power and can even be converted to being a rear discharge model without needing to use any tools. It’s got very easy steering and will enable you to produce a lawn with a beautiful finish. It also comes with a 3 year warranty.
