If you’re somebody who wants to own a lawn that is the best in the area, then here are our top tips:

Grass Cycling

If you don’t already own a mulcher, then it’s time to get one. Mulching is the act of cutting your clippings into tiny pieces so that you can feed them to your grass again in the form of fertiliser. Grass clippings are as much as 85% water and they break down easily and quickly to deliver nutrients and nitrogen to your grass – and your grass loves it! This is one of the best things you can do for your grass when it comes to both its health and its looks.

Slow Down!

Mowing on full speed not only produces uneven cutting but it could even scalp your lawn. Whatever you’re using for your cut, slow it down and you’ll see the difference for yourself. At most go medium speed and enjoy the balance of spending spend less time cutting but giving your lawn a better chance of an even cut.

When it comes to trimming around garden features such as paths, trees, flower beds, etc use lower speeds. This will give you more control and it will produce that extra sharp looking edge that reduces the amount of manual strimming that you have to do at the end of the cut.

Change up the direction

Every time you mow, be sure to change your direction. If you always tend to mow in a clockwise direction, go around the other way next time. Then go back and forth the time after that.

These changes will help to prevent the grass blades from leaning over in just one direction and you’ll get a better cut.

By using these approaches with your lawn, you’ll soon have the best lawn in the road – and your neighbours will be eyeing it with their own version of green!
