The Hayter Harrier 48 AD VS (474A) roller mower will introduce you to the excellent 48cm Harrier range. The 474 is designed for homeowners with small to medium lawns (approx. 40m x 40m) who want a fine, striped cut and finish. The working design of the blade, deck and grass bag has been improved to increase performance when cutting and collecting. The 2 piece ribbed rear roller is a reinforced polymer with glass-fibre weave for increased strength & durability. Traction and rolling performance is not affected but weight and noise levels will decrease when travelling over hard surfaces. The Harrier 48 Autodrive VS allows the user to vary the travelling speed of the mower from 1.8 – 3.3mph. You will be able to mow at a comfortable walking pace. A Hayter 159cc OverHead valve engine is fitted to this model.
Features
- The Vari-Pitch™ cutting technology adjusts the forward pitch angle of the deck as the height of cut is raised or lowered. This increases the airflow in more difficult mowing conditions (longer grass) ensuring superior performance at each cut.
- Trim Side lets the user mow right up to the edge of the lawn. The right hand wheel, cutting blade and rear roller are all positioned in-line. This is ideal for mowing around borders or retaining walls.
- A wash port has been integrated into the deck so it can be cleaned off quickly and easily after each use. Cleaning the deck keeping it free of grass will help to prolong the life of the machine.
- Two piece ribbed rear roller with improved differential and drive method.

I've had a Harrier 48 for over 20 years and it's still going strong, so when I needed a mower for a second property I didn't hesitate to get another one. The latest Harrier is as solidly built as ever, grass collection has improved and the bag holds a lot more. A fantastic mower that gives a superb cut. Mowers Online had the most competitive price and the mower was delivered the day after ordering.

The third Hayter Harrier 48 I have bought in 30 years and it continues to be a reliable and useful tool. The latest model is much faster than the older ones (I can hardly keep up with it at top speed), but just as manoevreable and user-friendly - odd not having a choke start though and the engine runs rather fast all the time. My only criticism has always been that the bag is rather small and awkward to get in and out.

This was a treat for me, an expensive top of the range mower with a roller. It looks good, sounds good and cuts well and lovely stripes. I am not disappointed.
